Equine assisted ground based therapy allows students to guide their own experiences. Certain ground activities are richer therapeutically.

Students will increase their hand-eye coordination, memory, sequencing skills, depth perception, and attention spans by working directly with our therapy horses. By utilizing a step by step process using varied grooming tools, students will each brush, comb and care for their own horse achieving the above and at the same time will develop emotional bonds promoting trust and unconditional love.

By leading the mini’s through an obstacle course using the commands the horses all know, students will improve their muscle relaxation and strength and endurance. They will enhance their communicational, social and listening skills.

Equine Assisted Therapy has proven to be extremely useful for individuals who find it difficult to communicate and interact with other people and carry out instructions. Studies have shown that anti-social and aggressive behaviors become calmer and more communicative utilizing this type of therapy.
