Grief Therapy
We have three years of experience working together with U.C. Davis hospice providing visits by our miniature horses. We have found that interaction with the miniature therapy horses is very effective in facilitating the children's feelings, thoughts and physical reactions of grief and help them to cope with the loss of a family member. Our goal is to make visits with our minis to grief counseling sessions within the greater Sac. CA area and provide the full facilities of our ranch for grieving children so they can play and work with the miniature horses. The interaction with the minis develops skills and confidence in order to experience future success, in spite of the loss of their loved ones.

HEARTS & HOOVES is a non-profit organization
dedicated to providing healing and inspiration through meaningful
encounters between humans and animals. All donations are tax deductible, they go directly to the care of the horses and supporting visits to those who need us the most.
We bring our Miniature Horses into hospitals, hospices,
nursing homes, special-needs classrooms, Alzheimer's clinics
and more. Patients, their families, as well as care givers
and staff members all benefit when Hearts & Hooves brings
a Mini to lighten the day.
